Creating a synergy of technical innovation and striking beauty, this diamond-accented women's automatic timepiece (model 6209NL) from Gevril Avenue of the Americas Glamour blends a bold watch face with feminine details. The bezel is fully framed by gorgeous white Top Wesselton diamonds--which also line the sides of the case--created by precise CNC machines and set onto the watch by diamond setters of unparalleled skill. The watch also offers a bevy of small artistic flourishes including a uniquely patterned guilloche dial and a highly stylized Arabic numeral display that is raised off the surface of the dial.
A silver dial frames a centerpiece of mother-of-pearl, and it also includes a three-handed movement and date window above 6 o'clock. It's completed by a supple crocodile leather strap in white with tonal stitching accents. Other features include a 25-jeweled automatic movement with a 40-hour power reserve, curved sapphire crystal for excellent scratch resistance, and water resistance to 50 meters (165 feet)--suitable for swimming but not for diving.

An automatic (or self-winding) watch is fitted with a device (rotor) that automatically winds the spring by using the force of gravity. It needs no battery, but it will stop if you have been physically inactive for an extended period of time--as long as you're moving, the watch will stay powered. Swiss watchmaker Abraham-Louis Perrelet invented the self-winding mechanism in 1770. It worked on the same principle as a modern pedometer, and was designed to wind as the owner walked.

Gevril focuses on the details, including raised, hand-painted numbers and CNC-machined Wesselton diamonds.
The Gevril watch company was begun by Jacques Gevril in the mid-1700s in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland's center of watch-making for centuries. He was a sought-after master of horology, and he created his first chronometer in 1743 and his first repetition dial in 1744. Most notably, he was called upon by the King of Spain in 1758 to produce a personal timepiece, which went over so well that Gevril was appointed as Royal Swiss Watchmaker to the Spanish Crown.
The Gevril family tradition of watchmaking was passed onto Jacques's son, Moyse Gevril, and in 1784 he achieved the status of Master Clockmaker. During the 1800s, the Gevril family expanded their art to include enameling as well as the creation of dials for their watches. Gevril timepieces are displayed in museums across Europe--most notably the Museum Geneve and the Rolex Museum (where a Gevril pocket watch is displayed in the collection personally selected by the Wilsdorf family, the founder of Rolex).

The company was purchased by Samuel Friedmann in 2000, who believed the Gevril name represented an ideal combination of history and future potential. Today's signature Avenue of Americas line is based on a case design from the 1920, which was discovered after going through Gevril's raft of historical documents and design books. It has a retro look, but is updated with a bevelled dial with raised, hand-painted numbers and straight chrono pushers for a contemporary feel.

Creating a Gevril timepiece is exhaustive, and Gevril expends years into the design and manufacture of its rare and enduring timepiece collections. It manufactures only limited edition collections, with 6,000 Gevril watches created each year and each line limited to 500 (stainless steel) or 100 (gold) pieces. The company also sources only the best materials and accoutrements, including 316L stainless steel, natural mother-of-pearl dials, Wesselton diamonds calibrated by CNC machines and Louisiana crocodile skin.

Combining eye-catching luxury with the practicalities of a sports watch, Movado's Series 800 line of timepieces are a confident complement to both business suit and wetsuit. This women's version of the Series 800 stainless steel, Swiss quartz watch is well-suited for the fanciest parties, thanks to its diamond accents, but it's also rugged enough for your active lifestyle with its 200-meter water resistance. And you'll know this is a Movado watch thanks to the recognizable large, luminous Movado dot at 12 o'clock, which has become symbolic of Movado watches and pays homage to the famed Museum Series timepieces.

The round watch case is made from performance steel--a higher grade of stainless steel that provides excellent durability and strength. Additionally, the low nickel content in this surgical steel quality offers improved hypoallergenicity.

The bezel is completely bedecked with tiny white diamonds, framing the white mother-of-pearl dial that places 11 sparkling white diamonds as hour markers. And it's further complemented with luminous silver bar hands (with seconds hand), small minute indexes, and a date window at 3 o'clock. This precisely timed watch has a Swiss-made quartz movement, which is accurate to 60 seconds per year.

Other features include a sapphire glass crystal for optimal scratch resistance, screw down crown for maximum protection, and water resistance to 200 meters (660 feet)--which will stand up to the rigors of recreational scuba diving. It's completed by a handsome stainless steel bracelet band, which includes a fold over safety bar at the clasp for added security while participating in active pursuits.

Series 800 Collection
Elegant and bold sports watches and chronographs with Performance Steel™ cases and bracelets, resilient ThermoResin™ straps. Luminous markings. Screw-down case back, crown. Available with diamonds. Swiss quartz or automatic movement. Sapphire crystal. Water resistant to 20 atm.
The art of Movado is the art of design. Since its founding in 1881 by 19-year old entrepreneur Achille Ditesheim in the village of La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, Movado has achieved a legacy of design innovation, earning more than 100 patents and 200 international awards for artistry and innovation in watch design and time technology.
Movado, meaning "always in motion" in the international language of Esperanto, is the hallmark of some of the most famous timepieces ever created: the 1912 Polyplan, its revolutionary, patented movement constructed on three planes to fit a case curved to follow the wrist…the WWI Soldier’s Watch with its elegant, protective grill…the 1927 Ermeto, a capsule-shaped pocket watch wound by the sliding motion of its case…the innovative 1950’s Kingmatic series of rotor-driven automatics…the Movado Artist’s Series by luminaries of the fine art world…and the Movado Museum® Watch with its legendary dial.

Defined by a single dot at 12 representing the sun at high noon, the Museum Watch dial is regarded as an icon of Modernism. It was designed by Bauhaus-influenced artist Nathan George Horwitt in 1947. When Horwitt’s dial was selected for the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, in 1960, it was the first watch dial ever awarded this distinction. The name "Museum Watch" derives from this recognition. Today, Movado watches are in prominent museums worldwide, and this legendary dial distinguishes an entire collection of singular timepieces.

The Movado Boutiques extend the Movado brand philosophy of design innovation beyond watches to a range of products for modern living. Exclusive offerings include the proprietary and patented 114-facet Movado Diamond™ jewelry collection, Movado’s own modern 18K gold, diamond, sterling silver and gemstone jewelry, signature pens and personal accessories, Movado clocks and fine Swiss watches. Selections are highlighted in our seasonal catalogs. There are currently more than 25 upscale Movado Boutique stores in major markets across the United States.

Excellence in design. A dedication to Swiss craftsmanship. The quest for technological innovation. The Movado philosophy remains as valid as it was in 1881. Swiss made and water resistant, all Movado watches are distinguished by a legacy of design innovation and dedication to the future of time. Discover the complete collection today.

The Omega Women's My Choice Diamond Bezel Watch is an exquisite timepiece that flaunts its elegance with a stainless steel and diamond bezel. Silver tone hands and hour markers offset the deep black dial. This timepiece runs on quartz precision movement with rhodium-plated finish and features a domed, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal coated on the inside with anti-reflective treatment. While the Constellation is certain to turn heads at your next dinner party, with a design that's water resistant to 99 feet, it is also certain make a splash at your next beach-side resort or yachting adventure.

The Omega watch story begins in 1848, when founder Louis Brandt began hand assembling key-wound precision pocket watches from parts supplied by local craftsmen in his principality La Chaux-de-Fonds, in the northwest corner of Switzerland. However, the Omega name didn't appear until 1894, after Louis Brandt had passed away and his watchmaking traditions were taken over by his sons, Louis-Paul and Cesar Brandt. Omega watches have long been associated with glamorous screen and sports stars--the Omega Seamaster is famous for being the watch of choice for James Bond--with current ambassadors including Pierce Brosnan, Nicole Kidman, tennis player Anna Kournikova, and swimmers Michael Phelps and Ian Thorpe.
But Omega is more than just a fashionable watch. In 1965, the Omega Speedmaster chronograph was "flight-qualified by NASA for all manned space missions" as the only wristwatch to have withstood all of the U.S. space agency's severe tests, including passing grades for extreme shocks, vibrations, and temperatures ranging from -18 to +93 degrees Celsius. The greatest moment in the Speedmaster's history was undoubtedly 20 July 1969 at 02:56 GMT, when it recorded man's first steps on the Moon's surface as part of the Apollo 11 mission. Omega watches rocketed off to space on many subsequent missions, including visits to Skylab and the historic Apollo-Soyuz link-up of Soviet and American astronauts in 1975.

In more recent years, Omega created the world's first self-winding wristwatch with central tourbillon in 1994 and made history in 1999 with the first mass-produced watch incorporating the co-axial escapement, developed in conjunction with renowned English master watchmaker George Daniels. In simple terms, the escapement is the heart of a mechanical watch, generating the impulses that make the mechanism move. Omega's Co-Axial Escapement drastically reduces the friction among the parts that transmit energy to the other components, producing greater stability and precision and reducing service requirements.

Today, Omega is known for its rigorous testing of new movements, cases, and bands. Each new Omega movement is tested on the wrist in existing Omega models, while various laboratory tests are conducted to determine temperature-resistance, shock-resistance and vibration-resistance.

An iconic Italian fashion trendsetter, the House of Gucci--better known just as Gucci--is renowned for its tradition of luxury and constant quest and attention for style and quality. It was founded in 1921 by Guccio Gucci when he opened a leather goods company and small luggage store in his home of Florence, Italy. Within a few years, the Gucci label attracted a sophisticated international clientele who sought out its equestrian-inspired collection of bags, trunks, gloves, shoes, and belts. By the 1960s, Gucci products became icons when worn by such fashion icons as Jackie Kennedy (who carried a shoulder bag that today takes her name, Jackie O), Liz Taylor and Grace Kelly. Artistically combining the elegance of Italian design with the precision of Swiss horological craftsmanship, every Gucci timepiece represents watchmaking at its finest. Creating a synergy of technical innovation and striking beauty, this diamond-accented women's automatic timepiece (model 6209NV) from Gevril Avenue of the Americas Glamour blends a bold watch face with feminine details. The bezel is fully framed by gorgeous white Top Wesselton diamonds--which also extend to the lugs--created by precise CNC machines and set onto the watch by diamond setters of unparalleled skill.
